Projects

This blog post is mainly for my mom who's been wanting to see some of the projects I've been working on. I just learned to crochet in the last month so I've been experimenting by making Etta a few hats and bonnets. The socks and striped hat are ones I knitted while we were still in Montana but the others are crocheted and inspired by a few Etsy pages and several youtube instructional videos.
I made a bad Craigslist purchase and it turned into a week long project. I was looking for an infant carrier/car seat and finally made plans to drive about 45 minutes to look at one some lady was selling on Craigslist. When I got there it was dingy and ugly and nasty looking but I had driven all that way and, on the spot, I just bought it anyway. Filled with regret I bought a pattern online that night to learn how to recover the car seat pad and $25 later plus a few broken sewing machine needles, this was the result. I love Mary Blair's illustrations so we decorated Etta's room by framing some xeroxed pages from the Little Golden Book "I Can Fly.Finally, here's a shot of a baby beanie I made for little Kase Twitty. It's way too hot for him to wear it in Texas right now, but it was fun to make and hopefully will still fit him this winter.
